Handbooks

Each school shall prepare and distribute, either electronically or in paper form, a handbook to each student. Handbooks shall also be prominently posted on each school’s website. It is essential that the contents of all handbooks conform to School Committee policies. All handbooks bearing the name of the school system or one of its schools shall be of a quality that is representative of the school department.

Handbooks shall be submitted to the superintendent for approval by August 1st. The information in the handbooks must include the Code of Conduct and the Bullying Policy. Secondary handbooks shall also include the Teen Dating Violence Policy. Handbooks should also reference or include relevant district-wide school policies, as well as building regulations and procedures. Handbooks prepared pursuant to this policy will be made available to the School Committee.
